What type of client excites you?
I am passionate about working with individuals, couples, and families navigating major transitions or challenges, such as early parenthood, fertility struggles, traumatic births, or postpartum concerns. I am enthusiastic about my work with LGBTQIA+ clients, particularly couples where one or both partners are exploring gender-affirming care or families with a child who is navigating a gender transition. I have a strong interest in sex therapy, helping individuals and couples address intimacy, connection, and communication. Overall, I enjoy working with clients who are committed to setting and achieving meaningful goals to move forward in a positive and empowered way.
What can clients expect when they first come to therapy?
Clients can expect a welcoming, nonjudgmental space where we’ll explore their unique needs and hopes for therapy. I endeavor to create a safe, affirming space for my clients where they feel both supported and empowered. During the first session, I spend time learning about their story, what has brought them to therapy, and what goals they might like to achieve. From there, we collaborate to develop a plan that focuses on clear, actionable steps. In ongoing sessions, I use a solution-focused, goal-oriented approach to help clients identify their strengths, explore new perspectives, and create meaningful change.
What is your personal style as a therapist?
My style is warm, compassionate, and collaborative, with a focus on creating a safe and supportive space for all clients. I approach therapy with curiosity and optimism, helping clients focus on solutions and possibilities rather than remaining stuck in the past. At the same time, I am direct and practical, encouraging clients to take actionable steps toward their goals and guiding them through challenges with honesty and care.
How do you believe therapy can be beneficial?
Therapy can be a transformative process that provides individuals, couples, and families with the space to address challenges, improve communication, and deepen connections. Couples therapy can offer clarity and support during some of life’s most demanding moments, such as navigating fertility concerns, postpartum adjustments, or early parenting struggles. For LGBTQIA+ clients, therapy can be a powerful space to explore identity, strengthen bonds, and embrace transitions with confidence. I believe therapy is a collaborative journey where clients can discover their strengths and become empowered to move forward with renewed hope and purpose.
What do you think are the most important considerations when looking for a therapist?
When choosing a therapist, it’s important to find someone who understands your specific challenges and shares your commitment to growth. For couples and families, a therapist who can hold space for diverse perspectives and facilitate meaningful conversations is essential. Clients navigating parenting or gender-related transitions may benefit most from someone who is affirming, knowledgeable, and genuinely invested in their goals. Most importantly, the therapist-client relationship should feel supportive, respectful, and tailored to your unique journey.
What do you hope your clients walk away with?
I hope my clients leave therapy with a deeper sense of connection—to themselves, their loved ones, and their goals. For couples and families, I aim to help foster open communication and stronger relationships, even in the face of challenges. Clients addressing fertility, postpartum, or parenting concerns will gain tools to manage stress, find balance, and approach the future with confidence. Clients navigating transitions can leave feeling affirmed, empowered, and equipped to embrace their authentic selves. Ultimately, I want clients to feel capable of moving forward with clarity, resilience, and a renewed sense of hope.
