Betrayal, whether through infidelity, secrecy, or broken trust, can feel like a wildfire in our closest relationships. What once felt safe no longer does. Familiar landmarks disappear. In the aftermath, many people feel quietly pressured to fix it fast, forgive prematurely, or decide the future before their nervous system has stabilized and a truthful path forward can even be made.

After the Fire is a virtual group for people navigating the aftermath of a break of trust. Drawing on ecological succession – the process by which ecosystems recover after wildfires- this group offers a compassionate framework for healing. Participants are invited to slow down and examine what truly changed after the rupture, in order to craft a loving path for the future. Through guided reflection & gentle dialogue, participants learn to distinguish early stabilization from deeper intimacy, and to release unrealistic expectations about “going back to how things were.”

This offering is ideal for:

  • People navigating infidelity, secrecy, emotional betrayal, or trust rupture.
  • It is for those seeking a non-pathologizing, ecological lens for understanding rupture.
  • It supports partners learning to distinguish stabilization from intimacy.
  • People wanting to normalize slow and nonlinear healing.
  • Those exploring the conditions necessary for relational regeneration.
  • Partners who want to make informed, consent-based decisions about repair or separation.

This is not a forgiveness workshop. There is no pressure to reconcile, no moral hierarchy between staying and leaving, and no expectation to return to closeness before safety exists. Instead, this work centers expansiveness and truth.

If this resonates, or if you have been searching for a way to understand relational devastation without rushing through the process, I would be honored to work with you.
