LaCretisha McDole is a nationally certified counselor (NCC) and a limited licensed professional counselor (LLPC) in the State of Michigan. Currently, she is a doctoral candidate in the Counselor Education and Supervision program at Western Michigan University. Prior to her doctoral studies, LaCretisha earned both a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and a Master of Arts in Counselor Education with a concentration in Couples, Marriage, and Family Counseling from Western Michigan University.
As a counselor, LaCretisha (pronounced “luh-KREE-shuh”) strives to make counseling a process that is educative, empowering, and therapeutic. She offers support and guidance to help clients cultivate greater clarity and understanding of their worldview by examining the beliefs and values that govern their decision-making and problem-solving. Her goal is to strengthen clients’ ability to manage intrusive thoughts and intense emotions without feeling consumed by them, live in the present moment without being tormented by memories of the past or worries about the future, and lead an authentic, fulfilling life.
LaCretisha has clinical experience providing individual, couples, and group counseling services for children, adolescents, and adults. In addition to her work as a counselor, LaCretisha has six years of experience working in career services and student development in higher education. She is an experienced speaker on topics related to career exploration, career development, job search strategies, and workplace professionalism. She also has experience teaching at the University level.
LaCretisha has specialized training in couples, marriage, and family counseling. She works with all populations and especially enjoys working with young adults/college students, couples, and families. Her clinical interests include mental health promotion within Black communities and other communities of color, interpersonal relationships, faith/spirituality, career exploration, anxiety, and depression.
LaCretisha works with couples and relationships within the state of Michigan — currently exclusively via telehealth (video sessions). Contact her to learn more about your insurance coverage or self-pay rates.
If you are in crisis, contact 911. LaCretisha is not able to provide therapy or respond timely to emergencies through voicemails or emails.
