Intern

Carly Jacobs is an intern at Kalamazoo Therapy Group and is in her final year of graduate studies at Western Michigan University. She is pursuing a master’s degree in Counselor Education with a concentration in Marriage, Couple, and Family Counseling, and plans to graduate in the spring of 2026.
Carly is passionate about working with individuals, couples, and families across a variety of life stages. She approaches therapy through a systemic lens, recognizing that our inner worlds, relationships, cultural contexts, and life experiences all shape who we are and how we show up in the world. Carly draws from Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT) and Family Systems approaches to help clients improve communication, deepen emotional connection, and navigate life transitions with greater resilience and clarity. Life changes or transitions can feel overwhelming on your own. Carly’s goal is to meet you where you are, help you identify what matters most, and walk alongside you as you work toward meaningful change.
Whether you are seeking support for personal growth, relationship challenges, or family dynamics, Carly is committed to creating a collaborative, compassionate space where you feel seen, heard, and supported. Carly approaches each client with curiosity and care, seeking to understand the unique experiences that shape their story and identity. Her therapeutic style is warm, curious, and collaborative. She believes that a strong, trusting relationship between therapist and client is one of the most powerful tools for change.
With individuals, Carly has special interest in working with people who are navigating anxiety, depression, body image and significant life transitions. With couples, she is especially passionate about supporting those who are working to rebuild trust, improve communication, and deepen their emotional and physical connection. She fosters a space for partners to explore patterns of disconnection and helps them seek greater intimacy, both emotionally and sexually.
